    12th July, 2016 – China: Like most people, Chen Zhongwei knew his killer, though not terribly well. The 60-year-old retired dentist had treated him 25 years previously in China’s southern city of Guangzhou. The patient, who had a history of mental illness, became enraged when, all those years later, his teeth began to discolor. Chen was found in his home riddled with stab wounds. The patient killed himself by jumping from Chen’s balcony immediately after the attack.

    1st July, 2016 - Chicago – US: A Cook County jury has awarded $53 million to a 12-year-old Hickory Hills boy and his mother in a 2013 lawsuit filed against the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was born with a serious brain injury.

    The jury's award to Lisa and Isaiah Ewing includes $28.8 million for future caretaking expenses, according to a copy of the jury verdict form provided by their lawyers, Geoffrey Fieger of suburban Detroit and Jack Beam of Chicago. Isaiah has severe cerebral palsy, is in a wheelchair, and needs his mother to feed and clothe him.

    8th July, 2016 - Mercer, Atlanta – US: Leigh A. Isaacs initiated the action in response to the death of her husband, Harold D. Isaacs Jr. of New Wilmington, who died at age 41 on June 21, 2013.

    A notice of intent to sue was filed June 19, 2015, in Mercer County Common Pleas Court against Dr. Joseph J. Wizorek, UPMC Horizon in Greenville and University of Pittsburgh Physicians, but the parties reached the settlement in May without a formal complaint being filed.
