Kuwait: Kuwait sentenced the doctors in the case of loss of vision of the patient due to medical error. It has been found that the patient lost his vision due to the negligence of the doctors. The court sentenced the two accused doctors to one year in jail. Judge Bashair Abdul Jalil observed after considering the case that the reason for the loss of the patient’s sight is the penalty from the doctor, even if it is not conscious.

 

The gel used for brushing the teeth was applied to the patient’s eyes. This is what caused him to lose his sight, court records show. As soon as the gel went into the eyes, the eyes felt uncomfortable. Later the sight would be lost. The same company manufactures the eye and tooth gels. Their tubes were identical in appearance. According to the records, this was a mistake.

 

The court observed that the negligence of the doctors caused the young man to suffer physical and mental problems. Due to the loss of his sight, he had many marriage proposals. The lawyer appearing for the patient said that the plan is to approach the civil court for compensation.
