A grieving couple filed a wrongful death complaint against Dr. Mariana Cook-Huynh and the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority, claiming that gross negligence resulted in the death of their baby in 2024.
They are prepared to file with the American Arbitration Association, and notices were served to the respondents on Feb. 17, said their attorney, Mark Smith.
Ron and Tiffany Hocog said they continue to suffer from alleged negligent medical care during the labor and delivery of their second child, and said they are forever affected by bad decisions made on Feb. 27, 2024.
Tiffany Hocog was admitted to GMHA that day for an induction of labor, under the private care of Cook-Huynh in her role as a family practice physician and a contracted on-call pediatrician for the hospital, according to the complaint.
