Srinagar, June 26: An infant today died in the mother’s womb due to alleged medical negligence of doctors on duty at Lal Ded Hospital here.
After the infant was declared dead following a Color Doppler test, the family members staged a protest, seeking an immediate inquiry into the matter and action against those who displayed leniency.
The Father of the infant, Mehraj Ud Din, whose wife was referred from SHD Nagam following some complications, said that despite knowing that the patient was to be operated upon for the delivery, “the doctors kept waiting, till the baby died.”
“On Saturday, we were referred from SHD Nagam after doctors said that the patient had low water level and needed to undergo surgery; upon reaching LD, the doctors did not take note of the observations made by doctors at SHD Nagam and said that the patient will be made to deliver the baby normally,” he said.
