'Medical negligence': CMO B'pora orders inquiry after minor's death

 Bandipora, August 08: A day after minor died due to alleged medical negligence in Bagtore health center in Gurez, Chief Medical Officer Bandipora ordered an inquiry into the matter. 

 Umer Ahmad, a 14-year old teenager on Sunday slipped into Kishanganga river after which he was retrieved and brought to health centre Bagtore where no doctor was present. 

The locals held a protest demonstration demanding that the concerned doctor should be suspended as they said his presence could have saved his life. 

According to an order undersigned by Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, a copy of which lies with Rising Kashmir reads that a team of officers and officials is hereby constituted to inquire into the death of a 14 year old child at NTPHC Bagtore. 

The committee will be headed by Dr Asif Khan and includes Dr Mohd Asif Khan, Dr Parvaiz Ahmad Wani, Dr Manzoor Ahmad and Mohd Yaqoob Nasir as members, it added. 

The committee will submit a factual report with specific recommendations to the office of CMO within 05 days, it added.
