Lucknow: A Keralite nurse succumbed to Covid-19 at Great Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The deceased was identified as Kollam Nettayam Ambalamkunnam native Ranju. Her relatives alleged lack of proper treatment.

Ranju joined as nurse in Uttar Pradesh last month only. As she tested Covid positive, Ranju sought treatment at the same hospital on April 17. Though she later turned negative, her condition worsened due to pneumonia and she breathed her last on Wednesday.

Ranju's sister told Mathrubhumi News that Ranju did not get any treatment in the first two weeks after confirming Covid and she was given treatment only after she slipped into a critical condition.

Ranju had informed her sister through WhatsApp that on the first day of admission to hospital, she was given medicines and the doctor came for checkup only after three days. She also did not get sufficient treatment at the hospital.

Ranju had requested to take her to Kerala and wanted treatment in her state only. She also urged to inform the matter to the chief minister of Kerala. Ranju's sister said that no other nurse should go through a similar situation and requested that Ranju's body be brought home.
