Patients not adhering to doctors’ advice and then dragging them to court for adverse outcomes is a worrying trend. One way for doctors to avoid any legal mishaps is to maintain medical records, as this case demonstrates.

The patient was in consultation with the gynaecologist for irregular menstruation. The doctor advised USG which reported some anomaly; hence a repeat USG was advised. But the patient didn’t turn up at all.
