The patient, a lady in her mid-forties, experienced problem of diminishing eyesight. She was treated at different healthcare centres before being admitted to a national tertiary hospital.

The patient – a young man – met with a serious accident. He fell from a moving train which gravely injured both his hands. He was rushed to a hospital where his sugar level was found very high – it was almost 280.

The patient suffered from TB and thyroid and subsequently diagnosed with typhoid. She was taken to a hospital.

A pregnant patient was under the antenatal care (ANC) of an experienced gynaecologist. At full term, the doctor had to deliver the baby through Ventouse method. A very healthy baby boy was delivered, however, unfortunately, the patient developed recto-vaginal fistula thereafter and suffered its complications.

This is one of those cases in which glaring lapses on part of the doctors and nursing home compelled the Court to draw adverse inferences and make harsh observations before holding them negligent.

The patient, suffering from high-grade fever, was admitted to a hospital. Her condition displayed symptoms of malaria, however, tests reported negative for malaria.

A young boy’s left wrist was fractured while playing. He was barely four years old.

The child was taken to a nursing home where an orthopaedic surgeon decided to perform an operation. However, the child died soon after administration of anaesthesia.
