A 35-year-old male with a long history of cancer — including lung blastoma and soft tissue sarcoma — was admitted to a super-speciality hospital for kidney stone management. He was also undergoing palliative chemotherapy.
Pre-surgery evaluations revealed a serious complication: severe left ventricular dysfunction. The surgery was put on hold. Doctors initiated cardiac medications and began discharge formalities once he appeared stable.
But the patient’s condition suddenly deteriorated. He was shifted to the ICU, put on a ventilator, and treated for worsening multi-organ failure. Despite all efforts, he succumbed to cardiac arrest the next day.
