Clearcut negligence - Doctor performing surgery against his own opinion

A middle-aged man had persistent vision problems. Initially, he sought medical care from an eye centre, but did not get the desired result. Therefore, he approached an eye specialist, who diagnosed Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) and cataract in both eyes.

Scleroplasty was performed, patient was discharged a couple of days later. Unfortunately, he suffered post-operative complications and nearly lost vision in both eyes. He sued the doctor.
