Patient ‘tests’ doctors’ patience, only to learn that they were virtuous

This is an interesting case that addresses question faced by many healthcare providers – can a doctor be held negligent for not performing tests that are difficult to perform or may not be readily available? 

The patient was admitted to the hospital with complaints of fever, fatigue, pain in bones, visible blood spots on both arms and legs, with recent history of vomiting blood clot. Several tests were performed to diagnose the cause of ailments.
