A pregnant patient was admitted to the hospital. Her pregnancy had crossed the full term, yet she did not go into labour. Foetal distress was noted and hence, the gynaecologist performed forceps-assisted delivery.

Immediately after birth, the child suffered from asphyxia, neonatal convulsions and birth palsy. The newborn was admitted to another hospital for critical care. Patient’s condition also deteriorated as she started bleeding profusely. Hysterectomy was performed to manage her condition.
