Dengue complicates lives of patient, doctors and hospital authorities

Suffering from high-grade fever with chills & rigors, abdominal pain, hematemesis and haematuria, the patient was admitted to the hospital under a team of doctors. He was diagnosed with dengue fever. Incidentally, there was a dengue outbreak during that period.
Patient’s platelet count fell to a dangerous level, he was shifted to the ICU. He also developed major complications in the eyes and experienced vision loss. He was referred to a higher centre, but to no avail.
