A 28-year-old pregnant woman visited a private maternity hospital with a high fever and cold just days before her expected delivery date. She was prescribed medication and sent home.

Three days later, she was admitted for a planned caesarean section — still symptomatic.
Despite the fever, the surgery went ahead. Despite worsening symptoms, she remained under observation without escalation. Despite swine flu outbreaks across the city, no test was done.
