Ayodhya Nagar police on Friday registered a case of death by negligence against the management, duty doctor, surgeon, nurses, and other staff of a private hospital following the demise of a 25-year-old woman during treatment. Investigation revealed that the death resulted from gross medical negligence by hospital personnel. The deceased, identified as Shalu Yadav, a resident near Berasia Road, was admitted on May 1 for knee treatment. She underwent surgery that evening and was moved to the ICU around 7 pm. Initially stable, Shalu's condition worsened at night, leading to her death in the early hours of the following day. Her family protested, accusing the hospital of negligence.Investigation findings, supported by family statements, a medical committee's opinion, and CCTV footage from the HDU ward, confirmed serious lapses in care. Consequently, police filed charges against the hospital management and involved medical staff. The sequence of events showed Shalu admitted at 11 am and operated on by evening. By midnight, she appeared normal, communicating with her mother. When she complained of pain, a nurse administered an injection assuring relief, and a duty doctor briefly checked her file and left. At 1:30 am, Shalu showed restlessness; the nurse gave another injection but left the ward. Worsening, Shalu attempted to call for help but received no assistance. Around 4 am, her mother found her body cold. Despite attempts to revive her, Shalu was declared dead around 5:30 am. CCTV footage confirmed the lack of monitoring and response.
