A seven-year-old girl from Saroornagar died during treatment for alleged dengue symptoms at a clinic in Boduppal. Her parents lodged a complaint with the Medipally police claiming medical negligence.
The child, identified as Hasina, had been unwell with high fever and other suspected signs of dengue, said an officer from the Medipally police station.
She was taken to a local practitioner, Bala Siddulu, who, according to the officer, holds a Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree and practices homeopathy in the area.
“Her parents claimed that Siddulu administered glucose to the girl via IV, following which her condition deteriorated and she collapsed. She was declared dead shortly afterwards,” said the officer.
The body was shifted for a postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. The Medipally police booked a case based on the family’s complaint and initiated a probe.
