A year after losing her two-year-old son to alleged medical negligence at Imperial Hospital, another burn case has emerged, renewing outrage over lax oversight and safety standards.
Almost two years after the heartbreaking loss of her son, Deepali Gadewar, who lives in Chikhali, persists in her quest for justice against Imperial Hospital. Her two-year-old son, Diransh Gadewar, tragically passed away in November 2023, reportedly due to severe burns caused by an overheated warmer machine during his treatment.
Deepali has accused the hospital staff of serious medical negligence and claims that the police have downplayed the case against three doctors and two nurses involved. An expert medical panel from Sassoon General Hospital later verified that negligence had indeed occurred, but controversially stated that the burns were not the direct cause of death — a conclusion Deepali has firmly rejected.
