Tension In Pvt Hospital In Bhubaneswar After Patient's Death, Family Accuses Authorities Of Swindling Money
Tension ran high on the premises of a noted private hospital in Bhubaneswar following the death of a patient. Family of the deceased levelled up serious allegations against the hospital authorities of medical negligence and swindling money.
As per reports, one Sanjib Mahakud, a resident of Baliapatta slum was admitted to the hospital on September 10 after he complained about deteriorating health condition. However, even after undergoing treatment for over 3 days, there were no signs of improvement in his health. Mahakud died at the medical on Monday.
Meanwhile, family members of the deceased raised serious allegations against the hospital authorities and claimed that they intentionally kept the dead body in the hospital and made them pay a huge amount of money for different tests and medicines in a motive to swindle money.
"My father was admitted to the hospital around four days back. He was put on ventilator but he died despite the treatment," said a heartbroken daughter of Mahakud.
"They took my husband for certain tests and claimed that he was alive. They later put him under ventilator support. When I went to meet him yesterday (Monday) after requesting the hospital administration several times at around 4 pm, I found they had tied bandage on his eyes," said Mahakud's wife.
Meanwhile, CEO of the private hospital said, "The patient was earlier put on the ventilator and then he was brought to our hospital. During the 3 days of treatment, the patient had a cardiac arrest. A team of efficient doctors who were engaged to monitor his health managed to revive him. Since the patient was in a critical condition, chances of his survival was quite less."
Further, refuting the accusations levelled by the family of the deceased, the hospital CEO said that the allegations of tying bandage on the deceased's eyes were completely baseless.
