Hours after 30-year-old Arvind Rawat allegedly died due to medical negligence, his family members staged a protest by placing his body on the road in the Indiranagar area, demanding action against self-proclaimed physician Anurag Srivastava and compensation late on Sunday night, causing a massive traffic jam at the Suggamau intersection.
ACP, Aliganj, BN Singh, said that Arvind, an e-rickshaw driver, had complained of chest pain on Sunday night. "Around 9:30 pm, he visited Dr. Anurag Srivastava, where he later died. The grieving family alleged that Dr. Srivastava, who was operating without proper credentials, caused the death due to improper treatment," said ACP Singh. Family members staged a roadblock, demanding action against Dr. Srivastava.
Police officers later arrived and attempted to persuade the family, but by the time the last reports came in, they were still demanding an FIR against the doctor and compensation.
