The nine-year-old girl from Palakkad, whose right forearm was amputated following an alleged medical lapse at Palakkad govt district hospital, underwent a minor surgery at Kozhikode govt medical college on Tuesday to remove pus from the wound.According to medical college sources, doctors cleaned the wound and performed vacuum dressing using negative pressure to pull out the fluid and bacteria to help it heal better.The procedure was carried out on Tuesday evening. Vinod, the girl's father, said an examination of the wound would be conducted after five days.Hospital authorities said the child's condition remains satisfactory.Two junior doctors at the Palakkad govt district hospital were suspended over the incident.
