Doctor at Gzb hosp in row over referrals | Noida News - Times of India

Ghaziabad: A senior radiologist at District Combined Hospital is under the radar for allegedly creating hindrance in the functioning of the government medical facility.
A group of gynaecologists has complained that the doctor, who holds a permanent post, has been sending all women involved in scuffles, fighting and other medico-legal cases to them, irrespective of official hours. After they claimed it was causing problems in caesarean deliveries as well as treatment of in-patients, the hospital management sought a clarification from the doctor.
A report is also being prepared to be sent to the director-general of the state’s health department.
The hospital’s chief medical superintendent, Dr Sanjay Teotia, directed the radiologist to conduct the medical tests of women brought by police in the presence of the duty nurse. He was also told that only those women whose internal examination is required should be sent to the gynaecologists.
Sources added that the hospital is facing a huge crunch. Against a requirement of 22 doctors, there are just five at present.
They added that during a time when these doctors are attending to emergency duties along with their OPDs, such behaviour on part of the radiologist is unwanted.
