A 19-year-old woman, Keerti Nesargi, from Tummurguddi, passed away on Thursday night at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) District Hospital, days after giving birth via caesarean section.
Keerti had been admitted to the hospital over a week ago for delivery. According to sources, she underwent a C-section on Tuesday, but her condition worsened due to excessive bleeding. As her health deteriorated and she lost consciousness, she was shifted to the ICU, where she ultimately succumbed to blood loss.
Her family has accused the hospital of medical negligence, claiming that they were not adequately informed about her deteriorating condition during her stay. They have demanded an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
