Kanpur: The death of Ms. Meena Singh, 34, following surgery at Kanshiram Hospital has sparked protests from her family, who accuse the hospital of medical negligence. The patient, who underwent surgery for a uterine condition on Saturday at 2 pm, began to deteriorate ten hours later. She was transferred to LalaLajpat Rai Hospital (LLR) in critical condition, where she was declared dead.
Her relatives, outraged by her sudden death, returned with her body to Kanshiram Hospital, demanding accountability. The police intervened and ordered a post-mortem examination. Her Brother, Mr. Jai Singh, confirmed that she had been under the hospital's care for two months before the surgery.
In response, Acting Chief Medical Superintendent Naveen Chandra denied the allegations of negligence. He explained that Singh had experienced anxiety several hours after the surgery, prompting her referral to LLR. He asserted that the hospital had provided appropriate treatment.
