A six-month-old child died after being administered anaesthesia for ear piercing at a primary health centre at Bommalapura village in Gundlupet taluk. The incident occurred six months ago and now, the post-mortem examination report has confirmed that the child suffered blood clots in the lungs and brain due to the anaesthesia.
Manasa and Anand, the parents of the deceased Prakhyat and residents of Hangala village, said anaesthesia was administered by Dr Nagaraju and that their child died due to medical negligence. “Though medical negligence has been proved, the police are not filing an FIR against the doctor. We want justice for our child”, they said.
“I think that the police are trying to shield Dr Nagaraju. When there is so much evidence, why are they police not taking any action. All these months, the police kept saying they cannot act without evidence, but the autopsy had revealed medical negligence months ago”, said Anand.
