The Coimbatore district consumer commission has directed four doctors in a private hospital here to jointly pay a compensation of Rs 20 lakh to a man whose wife died due to their medical negligence six years ago.
According to an official source, Rajalakshmi, wife of D Saipreman of Mathampatty in Coimbatore, was riding on a scooter near the thasildar office in Perur on January 8, 2018, when a dog suddenly crossed the road, causing the scooter to skid and Rajalakshmi to fall.
