Tension prevailed at a nursing home near Gandhi Padia in Bhadrak district following the death of a woman post her delivery on Monday. The deceased woman has been identified as Debasmita Jena of Asurali village.
Debasmita Jena’s family members had reportedly admitted her at the nursing home a couple of days ago for her delivery. However, she died soon after giving birth to a baby girl.
When the family members were told about Debasmita Jena’s death, they got angry and ransacked the nursing home alleging that the she died due to the negligence of the staff of the health centre. They vandalized the hospital, damaging furniture and the doctor’s car.
On being informed, a team of cops from the local police station reached the nursing home and started an investigation into the matter. Later, the Additional Superintendent of Police joined investigation.
