Alleging medical negligence, the family members of a 21-year-old patient — Akshay Mondal of Burul, who had died while undergoing treatment at a private nursing home in Behala on Saturday — created chaos outside the healthcare facility recently and later lodged a complaint with police.
Cops have forwarded the same to the state health department. Doctors said the patient was suffering from severe diarrhoea and stomach pain. "On Jan 18, the patient expired, and the family members of the deceased started agitating against the medical facility. Our men (cops) rushed to the spot and ensured that there was no law and order issue," said DC (Behala) Rahul De. Autopsy was conducted on Sunday. tnn
