3-Year-Old Dies After Delay In Ambulance Arrival At Odisha Village

In a tragic incident, a three-year-old boy died allegedly due to delay in receiving medical treatment as ambulance failed to reach on time in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

As per sources, the unfortunate incident took place in Kankadahada block of the district on Wednesday. The boy was identified as Raju Munda, son of Shyam Munda of Dangapala Ambataila Sahi.
The minor accidentally fell into a canal while playing with his friends in the evening. As his friends raised an alarm, Raju’s family members and locals rushed to the spot and rescued him.

His parents alleged that the 108 ambulance did not reach on time though they called the service immediately after the mishap. Raju was taken on a bike to Kamakhyanagar hospital, where declared him brought dead.

The child’s mother Sumitra Munda alleged medical negligence and claimed that her son would have been saved had the ambulance reached on time.

The incident triggered widespread outrage in the area with locals demanding immediate steps by the government to ensure timely medical service for the poor.
